That's when I stopped practicing. I didn't start enjoying violin until sophomore year... And last year when I decided I wanted to go into music, to be totally honest, I thought it was just because it was something that's been with me for pretty much my whole life. I didn't know why it was there after all those years of arguing with parents, showing up to lessons unprepared...

Anyways, I think I know why now. And hopefully with a strict teacher and a lil inspiration every now n then (like that article), I'll go back to practicing a gazillion hours a day like the good Asian boy I used to be.

Thanks for the post Andy :D
Can't wait for your reflection on the speeches!

That second speech…WOW…<br

Reading is something that I'm noticing helps me a lot with my "writer's block," because it's a lot easier to find inspiration writing about another work, rather than coming up with something from scratch. Granted, it's the "from-scratch" works that define us as writers, but our thoughts on others' works are also important, as is the need to spread great work, so this avenue works out pretty well!

Thanks, folks, for stopping by and leaving your thoughts! Reading lots of material is one of the best ways to get inspiration. And after all you came up with this blog post. The speeches are nice, too.

I think you did the right thing. You can't always force yourself to write text after text.
