Tonight, the Frost Wind Ensemble will perform a concert at Gusman Concert Hall at the University of Miami. The concert will have special meaning to me, as it will be my first concert performing with the Wind Ensemble! The program will include:
“Slalom” by Carter Pann (Jamie Nix, conducting)
“March in F” by Beethoven/”Geschwindmarsch” by Paul Hindemith
“Octet for Wind Instruments” by Igor Stravinsky
“Music for Prague 1968″ by Karel Husa
The final three pieces on the concert will be conducted by Shawn Vondran, an Instrumental Conducting graduate student in the Doctoral program here at UM. The concert also serves as his final conducting recital, as he is preparing to graduate in May. The concert can be listened to via a live, audio-only stream, starting at 7:30 pm, located here. The concert begins at 8 pm. For those of you who are on campus, please come check it out! It is sure to be a great show!
